Alissa is a renowned piano and vocal talent. She was the vocal coach for Ben Affleck's award winning performance in the film "Hollywoodland" (Focus Features 2006) starring Adrian Brody and Diane Lane. She also is an actress, appearing in commercials, indie films, and creating and starring in Los Angeles Independent Film Festival short film "Superchicks." Born on a Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico to parents who are teachers, Alissa was raised in Albuquerque, later to live in Santa Fe. After college, she went on a vacation to Kona, Hawaii, and decided to stay for more than a year. It was here that she had the opportunity to spend time with her grandfather, Bob Moreno, who had toured and written with Mel Torme and Matt Dennis. As the top pick for the Benny Goodman show as drummer, Bob could not read tablature and lost the gig. He encouraged Alissa to continue studying music profusely, leading her to be an extraordinary musician and songwriter.
